I have a boat that my father bought in the early 70s from a boat yard. I looks alot like the runabout 15 with a plastic windshield and a fiberglass hull in the lapboard design. It has two bench seat and the engine compartment is covered in the back with wood with the outboard cut out. Dad started a replacement of the transom and the boat is disassembled for the most part.

Hi Tom, Just got my second Lyman a 13' rowboat. By the dimensions and description in your book I make it an Ideal but I can only make out 4 of the 5 digits in the hull number (2?395). The second digit is a 0 or a 9 as best I can tell (only the right side of the digit shows faintly). I'd like to get the documentation package if you can help me pin down which of those two hull numbers would have been the Ideal model in either 1950 or 1953. Has anyone else "claimed" either number? Thanks so much for your assistance.

Mr. Koroknay,
My wife drove to Lexington to buy one of your books and have you sign it back in March. It was a gift for my birthday. Thanks so much. It is a real treasure as are my memories of riding the waves of Lake Erie with my dad in our three Lymans. My other memory is of our many, many trips to the Lyman factory while I was growing up in Sandusky.
I have a newspaper article from the Sandusky Register (Feb 16, 1935) announcing the Lyman Memorial Award in memory of Bernard Lyman who died on Feb 14, 1935. It is 2 pages and in .pdf If you could send an email address, I would be glad to send the .pdf's to you.
Thanks

It is difficult to source quality plywood today. When a good plywood source is located the product is still not as good as the original plywood Lyman used. When doing a full bottom restoration, why not use solid wood planking. It is still possible to source quality cedar and mahogany planking today.

I am now a proud owner of a 1974 24ft Lyman, its in great condition with a rebuilt chrysler lm318 , and aluminum gas tanks added about 9 years ago, i know a lot about the boat mostly because i work at the marina in which the original owner keeps his new boat. The only thing i cant pin point is the value of the boat, the boat is in very good condition, thank you if you can please get back to me on the value and any other interesting information you could tell , thank you have a great day

I am going to need a new transon for my boat and will get back to you on the procurement of that item.
Look forward to hearing back from you.

I have a wooden I/O that I believe might be a lyman. It has an early 60's 6 cylinder Ford motor and the steering wheel says "Interceptor" The only nameplate on it is "DELTA" on the rear of the boat. How can I tell what it is? I can send pics.

I was interested in the family name and history to see if it intersects with my own.
