I have completely restored this Lyman to be structurally sound and user friendly with an updated steering system and newer 4 stroke motor. For the purists out there I have saved the original engine (very nice shape) and steering wheel. The original under-dash horn works wonderfully! 1958, 16 1/2ft Lyman for sale with a 1956 30hp Electric Start Johnson. Boat is equipped with; depth finder, cd stereo with 4 speakers, airguide speedometer, compass with light, working lights, working horn, under dash light, bilge pump, two gas tanks, cushions for the front seat, and a bench cushion for the back seat. The cushions have only been used for one whole season. The boat also has a mooring cover that is in excellent condition. I cover it after every use. This boat has all new ribbon stripe mahogany decks, new oak rubrails and all was done with the Lyman filler stain, along with 6 coats of petit varnish. It sits on an original TeeNee trailer that was redone by the previous owner. The boat\'s hull and decks have been restored in the last year with top quality marine mahogany plywood. The original seats are refinished and the vinyl top is in good shape. 1954 Lyman 18 Islander
This was my grandpa\'s boat and I have had it almost fully restored. Unfortunately, I live in CA and the boat is in Michigan. The Hull of the vessel has had extensive work in the past. About � of the planking below the waterline on the starboard side has been replaced. More recently, the spring of 2007, the port garboard plank from the stem to 6�aft was replaced. The outer Transom was also replaced and the entire hull received many new fasteners during the fall and winter of 2006. There is no rot left anywhere in the hull as of July 2007. Structural condition near 100%. Original Gray Marine engine was stored well, compression varies less then 5 lbs/inch per cylinder. It has new plugs and wires, points/condenser in the ignition system have been replaced as well. New cotton steering ropes have also been installed. Prop is in excellent condition, and vessel has a spare prop as well. This boat has a brand new bilge pump, and much new wiring, replacing old �lamp cord� wiring found throughout the vessel. The entire boat has been freshly painted and varnished. 12+ coats of varnish on the topsides and interior, 6 coats on the hull, and fresh bottom paint/boot stripe. This boat has a new canopy top and a full mooring cover, in good condition. Boat comes complete with a nice single axle trailer ready to tow away. 1967 Lyman 19 I/O Runabout PO-1114
Production of the new style 19ft Runabout series generated 151 hulls from 1965 through 1969. The series included 90 inboards and 61 inboard/outboards which this boat is. A recent survey found significant evidence of this boat having been well taken care of over the years. Frames and stringers appear to be sound and the mahogany plywood deck, rub rails, inrails and transom are solid and finished bright. Overall the vessel was found to be structurally sound and in above average condition with an attractive fit and finish. The 120hp Mercruiser engine and the outdrive are still in production and parts are readily available. Since I have owned the little Lyman named \"Seldom Seen\" I have had all the bright work professionally redone with Bristol Finish which should last at least 10 years. The floor covering is new White grain Nautolex. All mechanicals and systems have been checked and brought up to proper standards. The bottom on this boat was chaulked with 3M 5200 sealant which can still be seen in the boat. Lymans with this sealant have not traditionally needed any bottom refastening. The trailer is listed seperately. This boat is an exceptionally useful and beautiful boat. It turns heads and creates a ton of radio chatter wherever it goes. The way it is built and finished, it is no more trouble than a fiberglass boat and is very much more seaworthy. I can provide a copy on an extensive survey done when I bought the boat late in 2005. This Lyman is an unusual boat. The original owner was a fisherman and did not want the care of varnish so he had Lyman Boat Co. paint all the varnish on the outside white. That protected the original finish until I bought the boat in 1977. The boat has been completely restored to the original factory condition by Bob Schmidt and Bob Glouser of Put-in-Bay Bass Island Supply, known for their professional know how on Lymans. The cabin roof has new Nautolex. The flooring is new Nautolex. The engine was just painted. The engine compartment has a special sound deadening liner and two mufflers were added to give a quiet ride. Bennett trim tabs, ship to shore, compass , depth and fish finder. Total moring cover. Original shipping cradle. Gray Marine 220hp engine. Wooden lyman boarding ladder. Recent boat survey. Stainless steel bow rail. New hoses on engine. 1973 Lyman 26 Hardtop/Sleeper R-1638
1973 26ft Hardtop Sleeper, powered by a 340ci 250hp Chrysler. I purchased this vessel in August of 2000 and during the winter of 2000/2001 she underwent the following restoration and updates: All gunwale rub rails replaced with white oak and steam bent where applicable. The total top deck was was replaced including the sub deck with marine grade lumber and then a solid strips of teak were applied. A new bow hatch cover was made with solid teak on the surface and new smoke colored glass. The hatch cover grill was the re-chromed. The hard top was rebuilt with mahogany and all exposed teak plywood routered out and 1/4inch teak was laminated to it. No more teak plywood with the skin thin surface of teak sanded off. New Nautolex was then put on the hardtop. All floor boards were re-covered with Nautolex and any boards in question were replaced with marine grade lumber. The new floors were also stamped with the vessel hull no. All new cushions were made for the V-Berth. The entire interior brightwork was refinished. A stereo system was installed consisting of a Jenson am/fm/cd player and 4 Bose speakers for a great sound. The strut bearing was replaced and also the bronze prop shaft with a new stainless steel one. The prop was sent out and check and any adjustments needed were done. A full mooring cover and also aft curtain were made out of Sunbrella material. She has had very little use since I have owned her but the engine always got a anuual oil and filter change before the marina layed her up. She has always been winter stored inside since I have owned her and the full mooring cover has done a great job protecting her from the rain and sun during the summer months. All the work was done professionally. The rest of the hull is in great shape with no known problems or they would be addressed. There are probably nicer Lymans out there but she will rank right up there. A Documentation Package from the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Good Doc Lyman\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" is also included. She sits on a Loadmaster trailer that was custom made for her in the fall of 2000. It also has been stored inside year around. It has very few miles on it, well less than 500 as I inside stored several years in a friends building outside Port Clinton. 1967 Lyman 30 Open/Sportsman LO-1015
This is one the original 30ft Open/Sportsman models that Lyman built between 1967/72 (not a conversion). There were only 34 of these models built and are the most sought after of all the Lyman twin screw models. This boat has had one owner for the past 30yrs+ and is in very nice original condition with its twin original 250hp Crusader engines(with newer electronic ignitions) and maintains nearly all of her original wood. Boat is as straight a 30 footer as I have seen in a while. 1969 30� Lyman hull laid up originally as an Islander Flybridge model. The conversion to flush desk Sportsman model was completed in 2007. All fresh brightwork from bare or new wood. One of the last original 30ft Open/Sportsman model produced at the Lyman Boat Works. Having had only three owners, the last owner has meticulously maintained it for the last 20 years. Boat has always been stored inside in the winter and has won numerous awards at several ACBS sanctioned boat shows. The boat is very original and has twin Chrysler 318ci 225hp for power that have been professionally maintained. The left hand engine was replaced in 1994. Other numurous upgrades include: solid teak planked deck and teak swim platform along with new transom. The hull has new garboard planks along with a new stem. Cockpit floors have new natulex on them and there are new stainless steel shafts, cutless bearings, original re-conditioned props and a four battery hook up. New convertable top canvas and drop curtain, full mooring and transom cover, full winter storage dust cover, sound system, white custom made cushions, bilge re-painted when floor boards were re-covered, original green plaid cushions are still in the V-bunk. 1995 Boat Trailer 30
This a custom made tri-axle trailer that I had fabricated several years ago to transport a 30ft Lyman. It is a low profile trailer with mobile home axles and tires (7-14.5) with adjustable 1-1/2\" screw jack bunks fore and aft and sling pockets. The carpeted 2x6 aft bunks measure 5ft and the forward bunks measure 7ft with two forward 12x12 adjustable pads to steady the bow. A center 2x6 channel runs the entire length to center the keel. It has lights and one axle with electric brakes and heavy duty wheel jack. A brand name tri-axle trailer this size would be $7000+ new. Ready to load an roll down the road. This would be an ideal trailer for a 26-28-30ft Lyman or any other brand boat of similar size. Call for details or an appointment to look it over. It is at my shop in Lexington, Ohio.
